IRIS Technology Solutions, S.L. (IRIS) is an advanced engineering company dedicated to the manufacture of real-time process monitoring solutions based on Photonics and Artificial Intelligence, and the development of Digital Analytical Platforms.
The role of IRIS in the MAGNO Project is to develop the MAGNO Web Platform for consumer acceptance that will include all data generated through the project in a user-friendly interface. This data will include workshop videos, results of packaging manufacturing, packaging usage, sustainability assessments, and novel business approaches to demonstrate that MAGNO solutions are eco-friendly. To boost consumer engagement, the MAGNO platform will be directly connected to other citizen science tools such as the Marine Debris Tracker, Plastic Patrol, Plastic Score, and Plastic Tide. A forum will be also built into the platform so all those participating in the MAGNO ecosystem can share their experiences and provide feedback. On the other hand, IRIS will also create the Digital Twin database, building a data model with the KPI definitions and the knowledge collected from different tasks of the project, that will adhere to data management policies, access, sharing, preservation, and security principles.
Beside this, IRIS provide analytical control solutions using NIRS (Near-Infrared Spectroscopy) technology, Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) and Raman spectroscopy in real-time, among other techniques such as Fluorescence or UV, and Machine Vision systems, combined with machine learning and AI tools for data-driven process efficiencies and quality standardization in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, bioprocess, recycling, waste, plastics, wood, biofuels, and other industries.
Under the Visum® brand, IRIS manufacture and integrate physical-chemical analysis and control solutions in production processes, without having to resort to traditional laboratory techniques and sampling, thus standardizing product quality and significantly reducing lead time, as well as providing real-time information for decision-making and correction of production processes in line.
IRIS also develop Digital Twins, as well as AI-enabled Cloud Platforms for digitizing and connecting value chains, and data management and predictive software (Scadalytics®). This software is an upper layer of intelligence that acquires multivariate data from analysers & fuses it with other traditional monovariate sensors (Temperature, Pressure, pH…). Processes the fused data with purpose-built process hybrid models: combining both first principles rules & simple empirical rules, with multivariate-data-based rules.
By this, IRIS excels in the most relevant Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) for pioneering Industry 4.0 innovation.
