As part of the MAGNO EU project, participants will explore the findings and results from the insightful and successful presential workshop held on May 27th. Through dynamic discussions and collaborative efforts, the workshop organized by HOLOSS generated valuable insights and practical approaches to reducing waste and enhancing resource efficiency. Building on these achievements, this online session will further analyse product lifecycles and explore how circular economy models can transform packaging practices. By fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing, this initiative seeks to inspire actionable change and support the development of efficient, sustainable solutions.
As part of this powered collaborative ecosystem circular chain developed in the north of Portugal, HOLOSS is honoured to collaborate with the Senior University of Monção, that showcased a hands-on example of circularity, supported by the contributions of Baú da Zuza, Câmara Municipal de Monção, Valorminho, Sirplaste, and ONG ZERO. Together, these partners highlight the community’s strong and united commitment to sustainability:
- HOLOSS – initiated, planned, and organized this local movement;
- Senior University of Monção – collected materials and developed the final products;
- Baú da Zuza – a local enterprise that will bring these products to market;
- Câmara Municipal de Monção – offered institutional support and engagement.
Together, these entities will represent different stages of the circular economy, illustrating how materials and resources can be repurposed, regenerated, and reintegrated into the system rather than discarded. From waste reduction and responsible consumption to recycling, repurposing, and sustainable innovation, every participant embodies a crucial step in closing the loop. Their collective efforts highlight the power of collaboration in creating a more resource-efficient and environmentally responsible future.
Circularity is in everyone’s hands- and on this day, it was in the talented hands of the seniors who repurposed plastic packaging into graceful plant pots. Within the scope of the MAGNO project, this action was developed by HOLOSS to raise awareness in society about the use of plastic packaging by presenting circular solutions to them. Bridging generations to transform the present and secure a sustainable future: together, HOLOSS harness the strengths of both generations to drive plastic circularity and protect our planet for future generations.
This online event will not only showcase the outcomes of the presential workshop and best practices but also inspire local stakeholders to further embrace circularity, fostering a lasting culture of sustainability in Monção and beyond. Featuring experts and local changemakers, the workshop will include interactive panels, real-life case studies, and Q&A opportunities—encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing to foster community-driven solutions.
Participants will gain insight into different phases of the circular economy, from waste reduction and responsible consumption to recycling, repurposing, and forward-thinking design. By showcasing these collaborative efforts, the workshop aims to inspire further community-driven sustainability initiatives.
