Post-event update
On 9 December 2025, HOLOSS hosted the second MAGNO online workshop, Future Trends in Food Packaging Technology, as part of a four-workshop series designed to promote more sustainable consumer choices and support the transition towards circular food packaging systems.
The session brought together 94 registered participants, mainly young adults aged 18–24, from academic environments. This figure represents a proxy count, as several classes joined the workshop using shared devices, meaning the actual reach was likely significantly higher.
The workshop focused on emerging technologies and innovative alternatives to conventional plastic-based packaging, showcasing sustainable and recyclable food-packaging materials through live demonstrations, expert contributions and real-world case studies. Participants engaged actively in interactive discussions, strengthening the link between research, education and industry while increasing awareness of practical solutions to reduce environmental impact.
Organised in collaboration with The Navigator Company and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, the event reinforced MAGNO’s commitment to engaging younger generations and academic communities in the development of future circular economy strategies.
Below, we share a selection of images from the workshop.
