We are pleased to share a new scientific review from our project partners, exploring the far-reaching consequences of plastic pollution in food packaging. This study examines how macro and microplastics affect human health—impacting the liver, brain, respiratory, immune, and reproductive systems—while also addressing the socioeconomic and cultural challenges posed by plastic waste. Additionally, the review highlights the urgent need for regulatory measures to mitigate these risks and promote sustainable alternatives.
