CFREP Food Contact-Sensitive Plastics Conference 2026

MAGNO participated in the CFREP Food Contact-Sensitive Plastics Conference 2026, where the project presented its workshop “Standards and EU Legislation Adapted to New Times” during the CFREP Plenary Meeting.

The session brought together CFREP members involved in the manufacturing and conversion of plastic food packaging, creating an excellent opportunity to discuss the practical implications of current and future European legislation for food contact materials.

As part of Task 4.4, the MAGNO team presented the project’s ongoing work to identify gaps, challenges and opportunities within the existing regulatory framework. By combining scientific research, stakeholder consultation and industry input, MAGNO aims to develop recommendations that better reflect the realities of today’s food packaging sector.

Participants were also invited to take part in the MAGNO validation survey, contributing their expertise and experience to help shape the project’s final recommendations.

The workshop reinforced the importance of continuous dialogue between researchers, industry and policymakers, ensuring that future standards and legislation are both scientifically robust and practical for those working across the food packaging value chain.
