Post-event update

On 12 December 2025, HOLOSS hosted the second part of its MAGNO online workshop series on Future Trends in Food Packaging Technology, opening the discussion to a wider European and international audience. The session brought together 32 participants, including experts, industry leaders and representatives from innovative initiatives working at the forefront of sustainable and circular packaging.

Building on the insights of the previous session held on 9 December, the workshop focused on translating emerging trends into practical strategies for waste reduction, resource optimisation and smart, sustainable food packaging. Through demonstrations, case studies and interactive discussions, participants explored how innovation and collaboration can accelerate the transition towards more efficient circular economy models.

The event featured contributions from leading industry voices, including Luís Rodiles (The Navigator Company), who shared how one of Europe’s major manufacturers is reimagining food packaging; Pedro Costa (Embalagem do Futuro), who presented next-generation sustainable and smart packaging solutions; and Daniel di Santi Corrêa, who offered real-world corporate examples drawn from more than 25 years of experience in the FMCG packaging sector.

The workshop underlined the importance of closer collaboration between industry and research, and reinforced a key message: packaging is no longer only about protection, but also about trust, transparency and shaping a more sustainable future.

Below, we share a selection of images from the event.
